Race #3 in Zolder

Last Monday we had our 3rd race of the Endurance4Fun championship.
Unfortunately bike #98 still has some damages and we could not fix it on time for this race. We decided then to unify both teams into one and race only with our bike #19.

The event started for us Sunday evening with an Italian dinner and a team meeting. We had a lot to discuss and a great surprise was waiting for us.. we had a Skype with our Elvira during our meeting, it was great to have everyone around the table and be able to share some jokes and smiles like we usually used to do!

Monday morning our mission was to find a good setup on the bike with which the 3 pilots could feel comfortable during the race, so we had booked some free ridding sessions to test everything we needed.

Then came Q1 on which first Manouk and then Ine tried the new set up. During Q2 Dianne did the same and everyone agreed with the fact that we had found the sweet spot on our Honda

After the 3 qualifications, the team was eager and ready to start the race with Dianne behind the handlebars!

We qualified in the 8th position within our class with a 1.54.3 made by Dianne during Q2.

Unfortunately, after the 2 warm up laps, as the race was starting, Dianne lost the front after the sector II and went down with the bike. **rider ok**

With lots of pushing and sweating we managed to bring back the Honda to our box without the assistance truck and we inspected it in order to see if there was a possibility to rejoin the race. After some scrutiny, we decided that the bike was not safe to race and we couldn’t make it safe enough on time that is when we decided to abandon the race for safety reasons.

We were all very disappointed that we couldn’t finish the race, but then again, that’s racing... sometimes you finish, sometimes you win, and sometimes you fall..
We learned a great deal from this day and we hope luck will be once more on our side for the next two races in Croix the 28th and 29th of July!

We will be training a lot until then, so if you come to ride to Zolder, don’t hesitate to say hi!
